Company story

From Norwegian healthcare planning expertise to global data-centric BIM

dRofus AS was established in Norway in 2011. The first version of the software originated from Nosyko AS, a Norwegian hospital and equipment-planning consultancy founded in 1970. In 2017, the Nemetschek Group acquired 100% of the dRofus company shares.

dRofus has its software development team in Oslo and operates subsidiaries in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.

Nemetschek ecosystem

Part of a wider AECO software ecosystem

dRofus is part of the Nemetschek ecosystem, which brings together software brands serving architecture, engineering, construction and operations. Within that ecosystem, dRofus has a specialist role in planning, requirements management, data-centric BIM and lifecycle building information.

  • Nemetschek ecosystem context adds AECO credibility.
  • dRofus retains a specialist focus on data-centric BIM and requirements.
  • Availability, packages and licences are confirmed by SIMBIM proposal.
Data-centric BIM

dRofus connects requirements, rooms, equipment and model information

Selected areas where dRofus supports structured project information — scope varies by package, configuration and project requirements.

Owner requirements

Capture and manage requirements so project teams understand what must be delivered before design and construction decisions harden.

Room and equipment data

Connect room data, equipment needs, standards and planning information in a structured data environment.

BIM collaboration

Connect planning information with BIM workflows such as Revit, Archicad and IFC where integrations and project configuration support it.

Lifecycle information

Support a more consistent information path from planning and design through construction, handover and operations.

Core differentiators

Why dRofus is different

Data Centric

dRofus supports a data-centric approach where structured building information is managed in a centralised environment instead of scattered across disconnected files.

Design Integration

dRofus can connect planning and requirements data with design tools and BIM workflows where integrations are configured.

Single Source

dRofus helps teams work from a shared source of structured project information for requirements, rooms, equipment and reports.

Track Changes

dRofus supports change tracking so teams can understand how project information evolves over time.

Reports & Exports

dRofus supports reports and exports so structured data can be communicated, checked and shared with stakeholders.

Product ecosystem

dRofus, dRofus Web and dRofus API

The dRofus ecosystem covers desktop data work, web access to project information and API-based integration and automation. Availability varies by package, licence and project configuration.

dRofus

Desktop data environment

The main dRofus environment for structured building data, requirements, room information, equipment, reports and BIM-linked workflows.

dRofus Web

Web access to project information

Web access for project information and workflows where applicable, supporting broader access to structured building information.

dRofus API

Integration and automation

API-related capabilities support integration and automation workflows where package, licence and project configuration allow.

Availability of every capability is not guaranteed in every package. API and integration work may require separate scoping. SIMBIM confirms the appropriate package during proposal review.

Organisations using dRofus

dRofus is used across the building industry

dRofus materials show that the platform is used by organisations across architecture, engineering, construction, public-sector and owner/operator contexts. Organisations publicly associated with dRofus are referenced as the vendor's public customer base — not as SIMBIM customers.

Organisations publicly associated with dRofus include architecture practices, engineering consultancies, contractors, public-sector building owners and healthcare planning agencies across the Nordics, Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. SIMBIM displays client logos only where documented per-logo publication rights are in place; references on this page do not imply that listed organisations are SIMBIM customers or that they purchased dRofus through SIMBIM.
