Archicad Essentials — M1 Series

About this course

A complete introductory course to BIM with Archicad, made up of nine learning units (M101–M109) recorded from live sessions. It starts from the BIM concept and the Archicad interface and progresses through architectural modelling, documentation, structure, building services, Open BIM and deliverables management.

Course details

Each unit combines an introduction and its video-recorded lessons, with its own quiz as evidence of achievement. Once all units have been passed, the course's final exam draws questions from all of them. Approximate total duration of the lessons: around 34 hours.

Learning goals

  • Understand the BIM concept, its differences from CAD, and the Archicad interface and drawing methods.
  • Model architectural construction elements (walls, slabs, columns, roofs and stairs) with materials and composite structures.
  • Organise the model with Layers, favourites, libraries and parametric objects, and collaborate in Teamwork and BIMcloud.
  • Define the site, topography and spaces (zones), and extract information with Interactive Schedule.
  • Prepare the documentation: attributes (pen sets and fills), dimensions, details, views and the Navegador.
  • Model the structure with beams, columns, complex parametric profiles and the analytical model.
  • Learn about the building services model (Graphisoft MEP Modeler), model checking and the Open BIM concept.
  • Manage sections, elevations, drawings, the publishing of deliverables and presentation with BIMx.
