E101 – WORKING WITH ARCHICAD - SOLIBRI (PART 1)
This session will cover the first part of the Archicad - Solibri Workflow, offering a detailed overview of how Solibri can be integrated during the design and coordination processes, as well as its benefits. During the training, attendees will learn the basic principles of working with Solibri, the application of rules in IFC models, and will experience the error communication flow through BCF formats.

About this course
The course "E101 – Working with Archicad - Solibri (Part 1)" introduces Solibri as a tool for automated quality control of IFC models and as a complement to the Archicad workflow. Throughout a practical session, students will learn what Solibri is, its versions and workflow, the two ways to open a model coming from Archicad, the user interface with its layouts and the File menu, and the navigation tools in the top bar.
Course details
This course is aimed at architecture, engineering and construction professionals and students who work with Archicad and wish to incorporate Solibri into the coordination and quality control of their IFC models. No prior experience with Solibri is required. The session begins by explaining what Solibri is, who it is aimed at, what benefits it brings and at which project phases it is applied, as well as its workflow based on federated IFC models, Excel reports and BCF communication, and the Anywhere, Site, Office and Enterprise versions. Next, the two ways of opening an Archicad model in Solibri are shown: opening an exported IFC or synchronising via the connection add-on. The interface is then reviewed (customisable layouts, views, File menu, roles, Solution Center, Settings, Help and Rules Manager) and, finally, the navigation tools: mouse modes, selection display, colours, hiding by element type, zoom, camera positions, navigation map and 2D elements. As explained in the session, the course is delivered with Solibri Office, a commercial version that requires a licence (the instructor works with a trial licence). For direct synchronisation it is necessary to install the Solibri connection add-on in Archicad, available on the Graphisoft or Solibri website.
Learning goals
- Understand what Solibri is, who it is aimed at and what benefits it brings to the quality control of IFC models.
- Describe the Solibri workflow: federation of IFC models, checking and reporting in Excel and BCF.
- Distinguish between the Solibri Anywhere, Site, Office and Enterprise versions and their capabilities.
- Open an IFC model in Solibri and indicate its discipline.
- Synchronise and update an Archicad model in Solibri using the connection add-on.
- Customise layouts and views to configure the Solibri working environment.
- Use the File menu: save in SMC format, manage roles, settings and Solution Center.
- Navigate the model using Spin, Pan and Walk modes, along with display, zoom, camera and 2D element controls.
