E102 – WORKING WITH ARCHICAD - SOLIBRI (PART 2)

This session will cover the second part of the Archicad - Solibri Model Checker workflow, providing a detailed overview of how Solibri can be integrated into design and coordination processes, as well as its benefits. During the training, attendees will learn the basic principles of working with Solibri, the application of rules to IFC models, and will experience the error communication workflow through BCF formats.

E102 – WORKING WITH ARCHICAD - SOLIBRI (PART 2)

About this course

The course "E102 – Working with Archicad - Solibri (Part 2)" continues the workflow between Archicad and Solibri with the program's technical concepts. Students will learn to explore the model using the árbol del modelo and the panel de información, to use the selection, hiding, markup, sectioning and transparency tools, and to federate models from different disciplines within the same environment. The session ends with an initial validation of the model using rule sets, documenting the results with slides, and generating a checking report.

Course details

This course is aimed at professionals and students of architecture, engineering and construction who wish to use Solibri as a coordination and quality control tool for IFC models from Archicad. This session continues the first part of the course, which covered the interface, navigation, and opening and synchronising files from Archicad. The session covers, in this order: the árbol del modelo and its visualisation modes (IFC hierarchy, components, Layers and storeys); the panel de información; the Info, Select, Hide, Markup, Dimensions, Sectioning and Transparent tools; the federation of models using Add models; and the Checking layout, including the list of preliminary tasks, the classification of unclassified elements, running the check, reading results by severity, rule parameters, accepting results, creating slides to document issues, and generating the checking report. The exercises are carried out on architecture and structure IFC models exported from Archicad.

Learning goals

  • Explore an IFC model in Solibri using the árbol del modelo and its views by hierarchy, components, Layers and storeys.
  • Check the information of selected elements in the Info panel.
  • Use the Select, Hide, Markup, Dimensions, Sectioning and Transparent tools to navigate and annotate the model.
  • Federate models from different disciplines within the same Solibri environment.
  • Complete the tasks prior to checking, including the manual classification of unclassified elements.
  • Run the model check and interpret the results according to their severity.
  • Review the parameters of a rule and accept or document the results using slides.
  • Generate a checking report from the Checking view.
