Bluebeam Revu 2019 foundation training: first steps with markups, drawing comparison and Studio

This recording is a foundation training course in Bluebeam Revu 2019 delivered by SIMBIM in Spanish. It is not a sales demonstration: it is a hands-on class in which the presenter asks the attendees to work alongside her, to raise their hand when they finish each exercise and to put their questions through the questions panel. Anyone watching it afterwards can follow the same path with their own documents, because each block is explained first and practised afterwards. The first part places the tool in context and gets the program ready. It goes over why PDF works as a common working format on a construction project, enters the preferences to set the user name — on which all traceability later depends — and the interface language, and explains the profiles and the toolbars. A PDF is then created from scratch, the class documents are opened, the navigation of a text document is compared with that of a drawing, and access to the files is organised with the recent files archive and the pinned categories. The central block is markup. The main tools are worked through — text box, typewriter, callouts, pencil, highlighter, lines, sketch to scale, arcs, symbols, images and the annotation clouds — the graphics of a markup are customised with colour, fill, opacity and text, it is given a subject that identifies the discipline or the department, and it is saved to the Tool Chest as a reusable set. The my tools section with its number shortcuts is also explained, along with why the format painter changes the appearance of a markup but not its subject. From there the session moves on to coordination. The markups list is handled like a spreadsheet: custom columns for assigning an owner, filters by subject or by person, accepted or rejected statuses, and chained replies that remain as metadata of the markup. From that come the reports in PDF or Excel, in which each entry is hyperlinked to the exact point on the drawing. The session closes with two wider-reaching functions: document comparison, which generates a third file with the differences between two revisions of the same drawing and turns them into reviewable markups, and a live test of Studio, in which the presenter creates a collaborative session, the attendees connect and it is checked how the markups, the notifications and the chat work in real time.
