How to Reset Your Bluebeam ID (BBID) Password?

Reading time: 2–3 minutes

Resetting your Bluebeam ID (BBID) password is necessary when you can’t remember your credentials, you’ve received a security alert, or Revu/Bluebeam Cloud asks you to re-verify your identity. The process is straightforward, but it requires following a specific order and confirming the email address linked to your account.

This article explains step by step how to do it and how to resolve the most common issues that prevent the reset from completing.

🧭 What is the BBID and what is it for?

The Bluebeam ID is the account that lets you sign in to:

  • Revu 21

  • Bluebeam Cloud

  • The organisation admin portal

  • Studio (projects and sessions)

  • All features linked to your subscription

If the password isn’t valid or the BBID needs verification, access to these services will be blocked automatically.

🔁 Reset your password from the official page

Follow these steps:

1. Open the recovery page

Go to the BBID reset link:

👉 DE Region

But if your account uses a server other than Germany, use one of the following links instead:

US Region
UK Region
AU Region
SE Region

2. Enter the email linked to your BBID

Enter the email address you use to sign in to Bluebeam.
If you enter an address that doesn’t have a BBID linked to it, you won’t receive any message.

3. Check your email

You’ll receive a message with a subject line equivalent to “Reset your Bluebeam password”.
The email contains a temporary link to create a new password.

Important: The link expires. If you take too long, you’ll need to request a new one.

4. Create your new password

The system will ask for a password that meets the minimum security requirements.
Once confirmed, your BBID will be updated.

🔄 Updating the password inside Revu or Bluebeam Cloud

After changing it:

  1. Fully close Revu if it was open.

  2. Reopen it and enter your new BBID + password.

  3. In Bluebeam Cloud, simply sign in again.

If you were connected to a Studio session or project, you may need to authenticate again.

❗ Common issues and how to resolve them

1. The reset email doesn’t arrive

Check:

  • you used the correct server’s access link — by default, our clients use Germany.

  • your spam or junk folder

  • corporate filters

  • domain blocks such as @bluebeam.com

  • whether you typed your address correctly

If you use a corporate account, IT may need to allow Bluebeam’s domains.

2. The email link says it has expired

This happens when:

  • too much time has passed since it was sent,

  • it has been opened several times,

  • a new link has been generated and the previous one is invalidated.

Solution: request a new link from the recovery page.

3. Login error after the change

Typical causes:

  • The previous session is still active in Revu > close and reopen it.

  • You’re trying to sign in with a different Studio region (DE vs US).

  • The device has old local data that needs updating.

General solution:
Sign out of all services → restart Revu → sign in again with the new password.

4. The email entered doesn’t have a BBID

If there’s no account associated with it, Bluebeam won’t send any message.
In this case, the user needs to create a new BBID from the registration page.

🧩 Additional tips

  • Save your BBID in a password manager to avoid future lockouts.

  • If your organisation uses external authentication (SSO), the reset may depend on your IT department.

  • If you work on a corporate network, check that your firewall isn’t blocking Bluebeam’s authentication services.
