How to Fix Connection Errors with Graphisoft Services?

In some cases, a problem may occur that prevents connection to Graphisoft services. This can cause the application or certain online features to stop working correctly.

This problem is usually caused by a system-level block, typically related to the hosts file, which controls how the computer connects to certain domains.

Step 1 - Open the hosts file

The hosts file is a system file that may contain entries blocking access to certain services.

Windows

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the following folder:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

  1. Find the file named hosts.
  2. Right-click the file and select Open with.
  3. Choose a text editor such as Notepad.

Note: Windows may ask for administrator permissions to open or modify this file. If the prompt appears, click Yes.

macOS

  1. Open Terminal: Finder → Applications → Utilities → Terminal.
  2. In the Terminal window, type the following command:

sudo nano /etc/hosts

  1. Press Enter.
  2. Enter your administrator password when prompted.

Step 2 - Clean up the file entries

Once the file is open, you'll see several lines of text.

  • Lines starting with # are comments and don't affect the system.
  • Delete any other line that appears in the file.

Note: These entries can block the computer's connection to certain online services, including Graphisoft's.

Step 3 - Save the changes

Windows

  1. In Notepad, click File.
  2. Select Save.
  3. Close the text editor.

macOS

  1. Press Control + O to save the file.
  2. Press Enter to confirm.
  3. Press Control + X to exit the editor.

Step 4 - Restart the application

After saving the file:

  • Close and reopen the application that was trying to access Graphisoft's services.
  • If the problem persists, restart the computer to make sure the changes are applied correctly.

After completing these steps, you should be able to access Graphisoft's services normally again.
