How to Work Offline with an Archicad Cloud Licence?

If you use Archicad with a Graphisoft cloud licence, you can keep working even without an internet connection for a limited time. In this article we explain how offline access works for named licences and give some recommendations to avoid interruptions.

Named licences and offline access
Named licences are assigned to a specific user via their Graphisoft ID.
Offline access duration: up to 7 days without needing an internet connection.

⚠️ Important Note:

The ability to work offline is not available for floating licences (those assigned to user groups). These licences require an active internet connection to be used.

How to prepare to work offline

  1. Activate Archicad while connected: make sure Archicad is open and your licence has been validated correctly while you have internet access.
  2. Disconnect and keep working: once validated, you can disconnect and continue working offline for up to 7 days.
  3. Reconnect before the deadline expires: to avoid interruptions, reconnect to the internet before the 7 days are up, so as to renew your licence validation.

Practical recommendations

  1. Plan your work if you know you will be offline for several days.
  2. Check your licence type in the Graphisoft ID company management portal.
  3. Do not sign out or reinstall Archicad while offline, as this may invalidate the licence.
  4. Avoid system configuration changes that could affect licence validation.

Troubleshooting

  1. If Archicad does not start offline, try reconnecting briefly to validate the licence.
  2. Check that your Graphisoft ID is correctly linked to your licence before disconnecting.
